Washington welcomes Russia’s finance minister back into the G20

Yeah, so Russian Finance Minister Anton Silinov appeared in person at the US hosted G20 Finance Meeting in Asheville, North Carolina. His first such attendance since the the invasion of Ukraine kicked off and well it was February right February 2022 yeah so he's been out in the cold he's been he's been out in the car you mate you are not invited you are disinvited you're uninvited you're no longer in the club. European officials they were blindsided. Several of these officials refused to stand with the Russian for the traditional family photo the G20 family photo like not where we refuse to stand next to a Russian which was then taken without Silinov so he missed out on the photo and it was taken away he was taken away and some photos were taken away from the main stage so European officials they humble liberal German Finance Minister Lars Klingbell cool name Lars caught the invitation a troubling quite a quite signal and said he would have preferred a clear American statement that Russia was not being treated as a normal guest and that's the whole story here this is exactly what is happening and look it may well be troubling for Europe but notice it's not so troubling for America America isn't troubled at all they later they are heading in a very different direction so this is one to pay attention to it's these little signs that it's important to pick up on America often leads the way and they are again leading the way opening the door back up to Russia President Trump's explanation was blunt he likes getting along with everybody especially if there's any opportunity to make some money he is a capitalist at heart so he is looking to make money for him and his mates I know I know you might disagree with that but that really is at the heart of capitalism and that is at the heart of the Western system really you know the Western system of capitalism it is hungry to make our profit and to set aside things like ideology he treats that as part of how he gets results he says and that's what he is claiming to do I know I'm sure that's stirring up a lot of angst and hand ringing by those in the West who are more let's say ideological and less pragmatic yeah the meeting the meeting that Europe just didn't didn't get it all they just did not get this the Treasury Secretary Scott Besson bully boy Besson he still sat down with Solanova Russian on the sidelines and a bilad unbelievable you just look I mean you know the Americans will they will turn they will turn on you like that just like that they're gonna turn on you and that's what they've just done you one minute you're an ally the next minute you're basically just the dog turd on the American shoe that's what's just happened Scott Besson sat down had a had a friendly chat with this guy a bilad that the other capitals just started losing their marvels over just absolute here on fire moment so this is just hilarious US officials said the conversation covered Trump's Ukraine police plan and that Washington would not offer economic relief while the war continues Besson's public line was that many conversations are best done privately which is another way of saying the photo politics you know if you know what I mean the photo politics and actual diplomacy these are not the same thing you are able to stand there and have a picture or a narrative but when it when push comes to shove you actually just need to get the deal done Poland's finance minister put the European objection in one sentence they do not trust Russia and they do not want the war normalized through seating plans yeah I mean it's a bit late for that like if you didn't read the room like about a year ago you really should have read the room because America went to you guys bye it's a mess it's not my mess it's it's a Biden's mess literally what he was saying right he was literally saying not my war Biden's war and I think Europe will like is he for real he can't be for real is he for real and they were like he's not for real works out he was a real I just ideology oh just gets you every time so why this tantrum it matters more than the photo now the G20 is supposed to be the club of the world's largest economies it's not supposed to be a moral seminar it's supposed to be all about economic power Russia never left the group on paper what left was the Western habit of pretending that isolation was permanent now Europe they wanted a ritual of exclusion the United States holding the chair holding all the power holding all the economic mind the United States wanted a channel those two instincts can no longer be hidden behind a joint communicate you got to have diplomatic communication with with all parties I mean I'll just talk about Russia you know I don't matter who they are even yeah you know the North Koreans you really got to be able to talk to people it's about a figure things out like an Iran they America talk to Iran right now the door's closed so basically yeah it's done so good example of where you know pragmatism always rules over this just you know here on fire stuff yeah same week so the same week she Putin and Modi were in a bishkek it's quite hard to say that bishkek talking about multi polar order all about corridors and alternative governance and you can see the contrast right you can see the contrast between G20 here on fire and you know the global South basically all back slapping each other laughing basically notice you're not in I presume you're not in the global South you're in Team West I'm not in the global South I'm in Team West so this is not a great deal for us you know we want to be in the winning team right now that's not my view I actually don't think we're in the winning team I think we've just been taking an absolute litany of owls and I don't like it not one but yeah we can't even agree on who was allowed in the family photo whereas China doesn't see a need to split the alliance and the alliances are doing all the work so the post-unipolar reality check so this is all about Trump basically treating Russia as a problem to be bargained with not a state just to be canceled you know not cancel culture look it's a problem it's a bit of an issue let's go and have a chat see if we can figure things out Europe is treating any handshake any communication any engagement whatsoever as an absolute betrayal to portrayal of of Team West and they don't really understand their position in the picking order their positions down here and the USA is up here right it's kind of what's off the screen really so you know down here they're like menos and the USA is like you know the big giant in the room so now both positions have logic but only one of them matches the the world that is actually forming where energy minerals and votes most importantly votes at the UN really I'm not sure how durable the UN is going to be I hope it's gonna be durable but you know I you can clearly see the amount of power that the collective global south are accumulating if you can't see that look harder because I can see it you know I can see the amount of power as they start to connect as they start to build alternative rails by rails that I've just been financial rails I mean all of the different systems that we enjoy in the west the global south are building those and we'll go into those in a bit more detail but suffice to say they are they're getting together they're building connections between members of the global south bricks you know bricks are great example they're doing this and we're screaming with our hair on fire so I sanctioned Russian minister are walking into an American mountain resort that look that doesn't end the Ukrainian war it doesn't end the fantasy that Western isolation still sets the global guest list no absolutely not Beijing basically they read this as confirmation American deals and Europe postures essentially it's basically the episode you know yeah America deals they will cut deals like them or not I know a lot of people don't like them but you know what at the end of the day it's the deals it's the deals that actually get stuff done you know it's the deals that bring benefits I know Trump's crazy he does crazy shit all the time you know the guys lost his marbles you know he's he's talking about exterminating in a tire you know 95 million people in a round with nouges look I know I know I know I get it I do think the guy is full of shit basically excuse my French but I think he's he's all blister that's the that's the sort of language and sort of exuberance that has he has relied on in his commercial career and the dirty filthy world of you know of casinos and and property development you know we're talking about New York thuggery here so you know he's used to just coming out with the most extreme you know think of the most extreme thing to say in any one situation something that will tip your opponent off balance and I'll be like what is it for real it can't be for real that that's that's his playbook you know that's basically his playbook so you know you have to in my opinion to you have to materially discount everything the guy says because most of it most of it is just total bullshit I mean all of it I think I'm not sure if there's a single Iota of truth put it this way it's extremely hard to find from what he says what he writes down or what he comes out it's mouth it's very very hard to find the actual truth so but nevertheless watch he's getting deals done he just signed this deal with Vener's Wailer which basically gives the US full rights and control over trillions and trillions of dollars word of energy and this he's given it to some company I can't remember the company's name something blue and basically this this company now has essentially direct control over trillions of dollars of Vener's Wailer now assets and basically the fuel reserve the energy reserves there so look I mean he is getting shit dumb that is a massive win for him and his cronies all of his all of his buddies I'm not saying it good it's good for you and I'm not saying it's good for me but like he's getting deals done and Europe are like pulling their hair out so yeah bloody interesting to see the contrast it's really interesting to see how the Europeans are freaking out and just refusing to even go and discuss it just to talk to just go to talk to Russia yeah I think it's a really sad thing to see I think it's a very powerful thing to see when you know if you know what's happened the last two weeks on the front line in Ukraine which you won't you won't understand if you listen to the mainstream media in the West you know on on the Australian news or on Fox News or you know any of the major publications in the US but in particular any of the the media in Europe if you listen to the flat or any of the subsidiaries basically because a lot of the world picks up news from the BBC and from the Guardian and from you know these you know Reuters and AP and these publications are controlled by the essentially the UK slash EU slash you know European side of NATO that's what controls those publications so it's a very understandable that they would spin it extremely well because they are the best it's been my god they're good so yeah it's my view it is my view that that's what's happened I think they are they're completely blind to what's happened on the front lines but it's really bad I won't go into it because it's a bit too controversial for YouTube right now but you'll find out and about I guess about a month or two they won't have a choice I have to talk about it it'll be fun of course but suffice to say it's not good it's really not good for the the good people of Ukraine it's really shit you know this is a really shit situation for them so yeah it's terrible for the people of Ukraine I wish it wasn't like this but it is yeah but I'd great story I'd bloody interesting story the G20 the G20 and yeah the US basically opening the door to Russia they are opening that door out of pragmatism and the EU are giving the giving Russia the gold shoulder out of idealism ideology anyway we'll see how long it lasts for you know they've got a sort of sounds out sooner or later I can't wait I'll come back on camera and tell you eventually when they reach across the table and shake hands in Russia I mean it seems impossible right now but you mark my words it's coming it's coming soon
